When we arrived in London fresh off our bus feeling confident in the fact that we were able to navigate Edinburgh with relative ease it seemed certain that we were ready for whatever London had in store for us. However, to put it frankly,we were not even remotely ready for the chaos that was London. London is a bustling metropolis world’s away from the quaint capitol that Edinburgh presents. It is a mesh of underground trains, buses, taxis, and people speaking furiously in French. It’s a modern city filled with construction and modern high-rise buildings placed right along side old world buildings filled with English charm. It’s vibrant, colorful, loud, and congested. In short, it’s a city and we spent the past two days gaining a basic understanding of London’s tube system. This is the number one way to move about the city, it leads almost everywhere and(when not delayed) is the quickest means of travel across town. And when we weren’t traveling the tube we walked all over town visiting the museum of London, walking along the Thames River, and enjoying the sites of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the London Eye. It’s a tiring city but I can’t help but be proud that we were able to navigate the city multiple times, not any easy to task. So when coming to London be prepared for large crowds, foreign languages, and when traveling the Tube(London Underground), always be sure to mind the gap.
You guys are doing an awesome job.
