Prague-A storybook city

Prague-A storybook city

Beautiful, to put it simply, Prague is beautiful. In most of the places we’ve visited so far the objective has been to reach somewhere within the city. Reach destination a or visit spectacular thing over there, basically, we’ve had travel to our landmarks. Prague is unique in that it’s attraction is itself. Of course there are places to visit within the small city but just a walk through its streets is enough to sooth a romantic soul. Renaissance buildings, baroq style cathedrals, buildings centuries years old, and an array of quaint bridges crossing the river that runs through the city are all features that characterize this story book setting. When we first arrived in this city we had seen hints of the old world charm that Prague is known for but it wasn’t until entering old town that we were able to fully see the scope of that charm. Stepping into old town is like going back in time, leaving the modern world to traverse multiple points of European history. Brightly colored buildings, stately houses that once belonged to the wealthy, and other unique architectural structures are what you will see.

Astronomical clock One being a massive astronomical clock built by well respected artisans in Prague multiple centuries ago. It sits in a prime spot in the town square and is a monument to ancient engineering. This particular clock not only tells time but also the position of the sun and the phases of the moon. At times of the day it’s bells will chime and the marionette like figures of saints can be seen through open windows in the tower. It’s an amazing site and one I am proud to say I’ve seen. If after seeing this you are up for a walk go and visit the castle. It may not be a short trip but it is beautiful every step of the way and when you reach the top of where the castle is located you get a breathtaking view of the spanning all the way to the rolling countryside. Enjoy the many rooms and history of the castle, dating all the way back to the 900’s, all while taking even more picturesque photos along the way. Overall we walked about ten miles on our day in Prague but every step was worth it, this place is beautiful and appeals to my sense of classical and the fairytale. I’m glad to have come here even if only for a moment in time.
