Once we finished with our time in london it was time to begin the long journey to Amsterdam. While we do have Eurorail Passes they do not work within the UK so instead we took a bus to Brussels (a fraction of the cost of the train, but longer) as our entrance vehicle into Europe. Once in Brussels we activated our Eurorail Passes and headed to Amsterdam. When we arrive anywhere the first step is to find our hostel this requires maps, train attendants, and wi-fi (which is not always readily available). As a side note we usually already have our path mapped out for us before even getting to our next destination, everything else we do is to clarify along the way so we know we’re on the right path. Amsterdam is surprisingly not that difficult to navigate,  it’s routes and train layout are pretty straight forward, yes it is still all in another language but it’s not really much of an issue as long as you remember your stops name. When we got to our destination,  which was Meininger Hotel/Hostel (London was Wombats city histel), we found that it was located steps from the tram that could take us into the city. It was not city center but definitely the next best thing.  The rest of the day, evening really, was spent getting situated and finding dinner. So far the default when you don’t know what to do is to simply buy pizza, it’s everywhere.  Our arrival days usually tend to be our rest days the next day is when we take to exploring and experiencing the city.
